Once In A While I Write Poetry...

Slowly but surely I have begun to fill a binder with my writings found on napkins, receipts, notebooks, sticky notes, photographs, journals, and postcards, wherever I could storage a series of thoughts  I may have dreamed up or felt in the moment. Writing poetry, songs, rhymes, etc.  is therapeutic for me a release of whatever I feel that allows me to empty my mind onto paper and return me to the present moment. Hope to hear some responses as they start to trickle in amidst the other future posts on this creative journey I have set out upon.

"I would like to know if I could be the type of lady you could get down for"
Got me dancing to the oldies like I never been in elementary school innocent love before.
Flying across cities to be a nervous wreck knockin' on your door.
Don't mean to be asking so many questions but I wanna get to know the man behind the face I adore.
The spirit you is the one I implore.
Flip switch on the record Rewind to past lives our energies aligned.
Surpassing the infinity of universes time .
Melting into cosmic synthetically Beat.
Here comes that southern heat,
Spreading my doors open a place for you to retreat,
Sip on the honey of life so sweet,
As wet as the floods taking the northern Cali streets,
Whenever our minds meet .
Paint this portrait with me,
two Midwest kids loving the west coast rainy days, and the rhythms of their heartbeats.
Cuddle me.

Woman's March Against Washington in Oakland, California, January 21st, 2017 . I am a NASTY WOMAN and I stand with living an existence that doesn't degrade or disrespect anyone else's.  I stand for equality, for love, and for the wild woman who birthed each of us, as far back as every lineage has gone.

Tears poured easily down my eyes as I climbed on-top the Bart Train Roof Top to take a higher view of the history I was so fully present for today, even when asked to leave by the cops I said, "surely but in a minute". The beauty I was seeing the unity, love, the mutual respect, compassion, and laughter was so strong so powerful a force I needed to let it soak into me like the rain from the clouds that were drizzling upon us all. There was a power I have never seen before at work and it was a flood of pink kitten ears voicing strongly that, We are the change we have been looking for.

Bubbles not Bullets, love not hate floated in the air. The march today broke records in American History and made global news. This was the largest largest inaugural protest in U.S. history, and Womankind I thank you for making this movement occur, to all the men who came in support of us, to all those who claim no gender, multiple genders, you did this, you deserve your equality. Every single continent on this Earth participated, the unity in this movement to me resembles a far greater movement than just for our country, this march is the beginning of hope for all women world wide to speak up and be their truth. This is what hope looks like, these signs are our swords, we have words, you can not silence us now, we have learned our wings are un-pluckable made out of back bones, our faith relentless, our drive unparalleled. There is power in peace, in dance, in song, in stories, and in love.
