October is Upon Us, and the Full Moon Fueled my Fire.

October, the month that makes wearing all black an aesthetic vision of beauty, with all the minimalist who try being in the witchy spirit. The one month in which everyday is an acceptable costume day, the way I think it should be year round. This October has started off in a blaze of glory.  Ringing in the first day with a Mad Scientist themed party to which I sported the classic iron pressed all white lab jacket. A day later I had a retro pinup shoot with Mike Austin, and I can't wait to see what was captured. So many blacks, reds, and boas. 

​Followed by a most groovy gig at the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers along side Dylan Bradley a phenomenal hooper and supportive friend. Thank you to the amazing Audette Sophia of Catalyst Arts for bringing me on to such a far out Summer Of Love event. The light projections across the Conservatory took my breath away, as the go-gos rocked their blossoming head dresses.

Much thanks to divine timing and location post gig I was able to attend my first fire jam of the Autumn season under a bright full moon on an particularly warm San Francisco night. Truly breathing life back into my passionate relationship to fire dancing. I have begun to truly explore fire manipulation outside of my Hoop and with other props such as double staves and dragon staff. I am finding a new way in which I am enjoying movement and the exploration of these new to me props has me on cloud nine. 

Looking Forward into the month Ian Nathan and I will be teaching an Acro workshop at Reunion : a flow and empowerment retreat hosted by Ministry of Flow, Ocotber 19-22 in Hopland, CA.  We are plotting up some fun tricks to incorporate into your flow to bring the often solo journey of fire dancing to an expansion of play with others.
